Electrolysis

Electrolysis Hair Removal

Electrolysis is a clinically approved and effective method for long-term hair removal, recognised by the British Medical Association as one of only three methods for permanent hair reduction. This technique is designed to target and destroy hair follicles during the anagen (growth) phase of the hair growth cycle, ensuring successful removal of both facial and body hair.

How Electrolysis Works:

1. Procedure: Electrolysis involves the insertion of a fine probe (needle) into the hair follicle, reaching the dermal papilla at the base of the follicle.

2. Current Application: An electric current is then applied, creating a heat reaction that destroys the dermal papilla and its associated blood supply. This process effectively prevents future hair growth.

Pre and Post Treatment Requirements Include (but not limited to):

  • Consultation: A comprehensive consultation and review of medical history and test patch are mandatory before beginning treatment.
  • Doctor’s Note: Depending on individual health conditions, a doctor's note may be required.
  • Test Patch: A test patch is performed to ensure suitability and assess skin reaction.

Any scabs or crusting which forms may take anywhere from 5-14 days to drop off. If the treatment area is below the neck, this can take up to 4 weeks.
