Blend Epilation: A Modern Approach to Permanent Hair Removal

Blend epilation is a contemporary method of hair removal that has been medically approved for its enhanced effectiveness and comfort compared to traditional electrolysis. This advanced technique combines diathermy and galvanic currents to deliver superior results, with minimal skin reaction and increased durability.

How Blend Epilation Works:

1. Technique: The Blend epilation method integrates both diathermy (heat) and galvanic (chemical) currents. By combining these two approaches, the process utilises the caustic properties of sodium hydroxide (lye) to effectively target and destroy hair follicles.

2. Process: When heated, lye becomes more caustic and liquidised, allowing it to penetrate all areas of the hair follicle more effectively. The heat also makes the tissue surrounding the dermal papilla more porous, enhancing the diffusion of the lye and increasing the treatment's efficacy.

Advantages of Blend Epilation:

  • Increased Effectiveness: The combination of heat and chemical reactions ensures a more thorough destruction of hair follicles, leading to longer-lasting results.
  • Enhanced Comfort: Compared to diathermy alone, Blend epilation is generally more comfortable and results in less skin irritation.
  • Efficiency: Although individual sessions may take slightly longer, the overall effectiveness and reduced discomfort make it a preferred choice for many.

Pre and Post Treatment Requirements Include (but not limited to):

  • Consultation: A comprehensive consultation and review of medical history and test patch are mandatory before beginning treatment.
  • Doctor’s Note: Depending on individual health conditions, a doctor's note may be required.
  • Test Patch: A test patch is performed to ensure suitability and assess skin reaction.
