Hay Fever/Allergy Relief

Hay fever and Allergy Symptom Relief: A Comprehensive Treatment Guide

Hay fever and allergies can significantly impact your quality of life, especially during warmer months when pollen levels are high. Many sufferers find themselves confined indoors to avoid the discomfort of symptoms like a runny nose, itchy eyes, or hives. Hay fever is triggered by an allergic reaction to pollen, and managing these symptoms is crucial for enjoying the outdoors.

Key Benefits of Hay fever Treatment

Season-Long Relief: This treatment typically provides relief for the entire pollen season, helping you enjoy the outdoors without discomfort.

Effective Symptom Control: Many individuals experience significant improvement in their hay fever symptoms, even in severe cases that disrupt daily life.

Low-Risk Treatment: The low-dose injection minimises the risk of side effects while offering powerful relief from allergy symptoms.

Convenient and Long-Lasting: Often, only one injection is needed for full-season coverage, making it a practical solution for managing hay fever.

Understanding the Procedure

This treatment involves a prescription-only steroid injection, which contains the active ingredient Triamcinolone. The injection is administered intramuscularly into the Gluteus Medius, a large muscle in the buttock. Once injected, the medication gradually releases into the bloodstream over several weeks, providing prolonged relief from hay fever symptoms. Typically, one to two injection (singularly or a month apart) - dependant on weight and aesthetic practitioner decision) is sufficient to alleviate symptoms for the entire pollen season.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?

Most patients require just one or two injections to manage their hay fever symptoms throughout the pollen season. The exact dosage depends on factors such as body weight and metabolism, with each dose individually charged. It is discretion of the practitioner and body to weather or to doses are administered on the day

Dosage Information

The effective dose is generally 1mg per kilogram of body weight. Standard doses range from 40mg to 80mg per season per person. In some cases, higher doses may be necessary, and additional charges apply. It's important to note that while this treatment is highly effective for most, it may not work for everyone.

Onset of Relief

Most patients experience relief within a week of receiving the injection, though it can take up to a month for full effects. Some individuals may require a second dose dependant on if they have had a single or double dose, depending on their body's response to the treatment and body weight etc

Duration of Effectiveness

The relief provided by this injection can last up to six months, allowing you to enjoy a long period free from hay fever symptoms.

As with any l procedure, certain conditions may make this treatment unsuitable for some individuals. A comprehensive health assessment, including lifestyle and medication review, will be conducted before treatment to ensure safety.
